How it works
Filament remaining by weight is more accurate than guessing by eye. Length is derived from mass, material density and filament cross-sectional area. For PLA, density around 1.24 g/cm³ is a common starting point; ABS and PETG vary.
Important limitations
Empty spool weight and polymer density vary by manufacturer. Moisture, spool add-ons and winding variability can affect the final estimate.
