How to use it

  1. Upload the subtitle file or paste its text.
  2. Enter an offset in seconds. Use a positive value if captions appear early, or a negative value if captions appear late.
  3. Compare the timestamps in the preview.
  4. Download the shifted subtitles, keeping the original SRT or VTT format.

How to choose the right offset

If someone speaks at 00:00:10 but the corresponding subtitle appears at 00:00:08, the subtitle is two seconds early. Shift it by +2.0 seconds. If the subtitle appears at 00:00:13 instead, use −3.0 seconds.

This tool applies one constant offset to every cue. It does not correct progressively drifting subtitles caused by different frame rates or different video cuts. Negative timestamps are clipped to zero, and any cue with no duration left is removed with a warning.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make subtitles appear earlier?

Yes. Enter a negative number such as -2.5 to move all subtitle cues 2.5 seconds earlier.

Does it support both SRT and WebVTT?

Yes. The output keeps the detected original text subtitle format.

Will this fix subtitles that gradually drift apart?

Not by itself. A uniform offset corrects a constant delay, not speed differences or timing drift.
